New to the Wildwood boardwalk this summer is Captain Jacks restaurant. Mitchell Iron Works fabricated a lot of strucutral steel supports for the fancy roof system as well as a galvanized staircase for the rear entrance to the building. 30 years ago Mitchell Welding & Iron Works fabricated and erected the parking lot stair tower at The Grand Hotel in Cape May, NJ. After years and years of salt air and winter weather, the stair tower needed a complete makeover. The stairs were stripped down to the landings and stringers, completely sandblasted and painted. New galvanized tread supports were installed, the stairs were repaired at all structural deficiencies, pans were installed for poured concrete landings to replace the previous grating landings and new galvanized railings were fabricated and installed to bring the stair tower up to current code requirements. The stair is ready for another 30+ years of abuse.
In the fall of 2006 Premier Custom Homes of North Wildwood New Jersey hired Mitchell Iron Works to fabricate and erect the strucutal steel for their new Hotel style condominium complex, Champange Island Resort and their downstairs bar, FlipFlopz…
MIW erected all the structual steel, three stair towers with continuous railings, outside stairs for access to the Tiki Bar and erected over 30 flood gate systems to protect the building in the event of a flood.
